Review
What’s Done Well
- Captures the harm of hiding donor conception. The trauma that Tess experiences after accidentally discovering that she is donor conceived demonstrates how important it is for recipient parents to be honest with their children from a young age.
Additional Considerations
- Intense bullying. Tess is the victim of intense bullying from her peers, mainly about her appearance and her weight. Some of the bullying is transphobic in nature (Tess is cisgender) and she is also the victim of sexual harassment. This may be too upsetting for some readers.
